The Ultimate Ha Giang Loop: 3-Day Motorbike Itinerary

The Ha Giang Loop is one of Vietnam's most breathtaking journeys. Day 1: Ha Giang City - Quan Ba - Yen Minh (100km) Start from Ha Giang City. Pick up your motorbike from a reliable rental such as Hang Thuong Travel. Ride through Bac Sum Pass, one of the first dramatic climbs of the loop. Continue to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, offering panoramic views of the Twin Mountains (Fairy Bosom Hills). Stop at Tam Son for a traditional lunch with local specialties like Thang Co or corn wine.

Day 2: Yen Minh - Dong Van - Lung Cu - Ma Pi Leng - Meo Vac (90km)Drive through pine forests and karst landscapes to Dong Van Old Quarter, a historical trading town with charming clay-tile houses. Visit Lung Cu Flag Tower, Vietnam’s northernmost point and a symbol of national pride. In the afternoon, ride the jaw-dropping Ma Pi Leng Pass with vertical cliffs and the emerald Nho Que River below. Take a boat ride if time allows. Stay overnight in Meo Vac town or a nearby ethnic village homestay.

Day 3: Meo Vac - Du Gia - Ha Giang City (150km)Descend toward Du Gia, a peaceful Tay minority village with lush rice fields, natural swimming holes, and tranquil waterfalls. Du Gia is perfect for a mid-day swim and a hearty meal with a local family. Ride back through scenic backroads with hidden viewpoints and complete the loop in Ha Giang by late afternoon.
